Flexible awning pole for the Mickey system with a length of 185 cm. The pole is part of the modular, self-tensioning, and free-standing Mickey awning system and is supplied individually for the construction of a sunshade with a separate awning fabric.
The pole is made of fiberglass with an external carbon fiber coating and AISI 316L stainless steel inserts. It has a diameter of 16 mm and is installed with an 8 cm insertion depth into a compatible mounting socket. The flexible construction is used to create tension in the fabric without the need for additional guy lines or fastening elements.
The total length of the variant, dimension A, is 185 cm. At the specified inclination, a horizontal distance B of 47 cm and a net height C of 175 cm above a flat deck are achieved. The pole must not be bent or tensioned by more than 15°.
A standard installation consists of four mounting sockets, four poles, and one separate fabric. The sockets are positioned at the four corners of the structure, oriented at 45° relative to the corners, and tilted 15° outwards. Proper alignment is necessary to tension the fabric uniformly. The system can also be configured with two poles at a hardtop or with six poles. Fabric and mounting sockets are not included.
The fabric must be made smaller than the distance between the top ends of the poles so that the flexibility of the poles creates the necessary tension. For this variant, the cutting parameter x is 140 mm, and the calculation is performed as the center distance plus 2 × x. The edges of the fabric should be folded and sewn. Fastening can be performed with D-ring Ø5 mm, item no. 39.599.20, or fastening buckle 46.825.09.
The pole is compatible with the recessed Mickey mounting sockets 46.825.00, 46.825.01, and 46.825.02 for Ø16 mm poles. For alternative mounting on a pulpit or railing, the base kits 46.825.10 and 46.825.11 can be used within their documented tube dimensions. The system must not be used while sailing or in rain. The carbon fiber coating can conduct electricity, so the product must be kept at a safe distance from electrical installations and must not be used during lightning or thunderstorms. Prolonged direct exposure to sunlight can lead to discoloration.
