EmpirBus™ NXT DCM is a key element in Garmin’s digital switching ecosystem, serving as the intelligent, distributed control modules that manage a vessel’s electrical functions. A system can consist of one or more DCM modules, each handling multiple circuits configured precisely to the installation's needs—e.g., lighting, pumps, horns, wipers, comfort systems, etc.
The unit connects directly to the vessel’s NMEA 2000® backbone, allowing each DCM to communicate with both other modules and Garmin MFDs. Via a web view interface on the Garmin marine network, you gain full control and status monitoring in a central and intuitive way.
The NXT DCM is designed for maximum reliability. All output channels are electronically protected, feature undercurrent protection, and include soft start/stop, which protects the installation and increases the lifespan of connected components. Electronic dimming makes it ideal for LED lighting, while robust output control also handles demanding loads such as wiper motors.
