EmpirBus™ SP8 and SP12 are intelligent, digital switch panels designed for controlling functions in Garmin's EmpirBus digital switching system. The panels serve as control, status, and monitoring units that provide a direct user interface for systems controlled via DCM modules – for example, lighting, pumps, comfort systems, navigation accessories, etc.
The SP8 panel offers 8 function buttons with LED status indicators, while the SP12 can be configured as a 12x2-way panel without display or a 10x2-way panel with display, providing additional functionality and feedback. Both panels provide control input to the system while LEDs inform the user about active status, states, or any alarms.
The panels can be mounted both vertically and horizontally, and installation is simple with the included mounting template. The SP12 is designed for interior mounting, while the SP8 can also be mounted externally, where the front is IP67 waterproof and UV-stable, allowing it to withstand salt water, sunlight, and harsh marine environments.
Both panels support custom symbols or labels, have backlighting for night navigation, alarm indications, as well as a robust industrial design for operation between -20°C and +55°C. The result is a professional, elegant, and extremely reliable control solution for both leisure and commercial vessels.
