The Garmin GPSMAP® 8424 MFD is the flagship of Garmin glass-bridge displays – a massive 24" Full HD IPS touchscreen (1920 × 1200 px), developed for larger powerboats and sailboats where maximum requirements are placed on overview, resolution, and system integration. The display is designed as a pure MFD (Multi Function Display) with a global basemap and is intended to work with external GNSS antennas, sonar modules, radar, and other Garmin equipment via the Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000®, NMEA 0183, and J1939.
The large IPS display provides excellent sunlight readability, wide viewing angles, and an exclusive glass-bridge look when flush or flat-mounted in the dashboard. With SmartMode™, you can switch between complete layout profiles with one touch – e.g., docking, cruising, fishing, or night sailing – so the most important data is always displayed exactly where you need it.
Via compatible charts such as Garmin Navionics+™ and Garmin Navionics Vision+™, you get detailed coastal and inland charts, Auto Guidance+™ technology (depending on the chart), daily chart updates, and advanced navigation features. The GPSMAP 8424 MFD can share charts, radar, sonar, video, and user data across your entire Garmin system, so all displays on board work as one integrated network.
Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® and ANT®, the device can be connected to the ActiveCaptain® app, quatix® marine watches, gWind™ transducers, GNX™ instruments, and wireless remote controls. With OneHelm™, you can consolidate digital switching and third-party solutions (e.g., EmpirBus™) on a single screen, making the GPSMAP 8424 the natural command center for navigation, comfort, and system control on larger, modern boats.
