Description

Garmin Reactor™ 40 hydraulic corepack with SmartPump

Our most responsive autopilot system on the water

  • 9-axis solid-state AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) that can be mounted in any direction
  • Minimizes heading errors, course deviations, rudder movements and power consumption, providing a more comfortable sailing experience
  • Minimal commissioning and calibration
  • A compact brushless SmartPump v2 that fits most hydraulically controlled functions on boats
  • With patented Shadow Drive technology, you maintain control even when the autopilot is engaged
  • Requires a compatible Garmin chartplotter

With a complete package designed for powerboats and sailboats, Garmin is making advanced marine technology available to recreational boaters that was previously only available to commercial boats. The Reactor 40 autopilot series is simply the most responsive autopilot system we’ve ever offered. Experience the ultimate in hydraulic autopilot performance when paired with the highly reliable brushless SmartPump v2, which fits most boats. 1

9-axis solid-state AHRS

With the advanced 9-axis solid-state AHRS, you can mount the Reactor 40 virtually anywhere and in any orientation. In addition, this new system significantly reduces heading errors, course deviations, rudder movement and power consumption, providing a comfortable sailing experience for everyone on board.

Responds to given conditions

This amazing autopilot actually responds to sea conditions to keep you on course. Even when the boat is pitching and rolling, you can trust the Reactor 40 autopilot to keep you on the desired course.

Minimal commissioning and calibration

All autopilots require initial adjustment and calibration – without exception. We know you want to just get out on the water, so we’ve made the process as quick and easy as possible. This is “The Power of Simple.”

Full integration with Garmin chartplotters

You have complete control of Reactor 40 from the chartplotter display. And with a compatible Garmin network chartplotter and BlueChart ® g2 Vision ® charts, you can enjoy features like Auto Guidance, 2 which automatically steers GPS routes.

A SmartPump v2 is the easy solution

The Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2 takes the guesswork out of figuring out what size pump to use for a particular type of boat. A SmartPump v2 works for most boats. You get optimal control and confidence knowing you have the right pump for your boat. Plus, you get full control in a smaller size with better thermal performance, greater reliability, and lower power consumption. It also comes with color-coded connectors that make it super easy to install. Pretty smart.

Limit the maximum throughput rate

The Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 automatically sets the maximum flow rate for a specific boat from 0 to 2.4 l/min. It also uses a brushless motor, which provides increased reliability, longer pump life, lower power consumption, quiet operation, smaller size, increased thermal performance, and greater efficiency.

Eliminate the risk of rudder "overboard"

The Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 is a complete autopilot solution. The SmartPump v2 is a single, integrated unit that consists of a motor-driven circuit with pump in a single unit. It features Intelligent Rudder Rate Technology (IRRT), which reduces rudder rate when the vessel is being operated at high speed and increases rudder rate when the vessel is being operated at low speed, for optimal performance and safety in all conditions. The brushless motor unit eliminates the risk of the rudder “going overboard” due to hardware or software failures.

Enjoy a longer-lasting system

Boating environments are harsh, especially in saltwater. That's why our SmartPump v2 is protected from the elements. The SmartPump v2 is made of corrosion-resistant components, including anodized aluminum parts and nickel-plated steel parts.

Experience advanced autopilot technology

When you have a Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 on board your boat, you can stay in control no matter where you are on the boat. In addition to staying on course in virtually any weather, the system can easily perform a variety of pre-programmed trolling and searching routines. And with a compatible Garmin network chartplotter and BlueChart g2 Vision charts (sold separately), you can get features like Auto Guidance, 2 which automatically guides GPS routes.

Stay in control with Shadow Drive technology

The Reactor 40 with SmartPump v2 features patented Shadow Drive technology. You get the peace of mind knowing you are always in control, even when the autopilot is engaged. The Shadow Drive system automatically disengages the autopilot if the helm is turned, giving you the freedom to maneuver the boat. The autopilot automatically reengages when you maintain a set course.

Get even more peace of mind

Add an optional GRF 10 rudder feedback sensor and you'll get even better performance out of your Reactor 40 autopilot with SmartPump v2.
