This Garmin Spectra LED Control Module, model LC302, provides centralized control of compatible onboard LED lighting. The module features three separate LED outputs and can be operated via a compatible Garmin chartplotter, the Garmin ActiveCaptain app, or a compatible Fusion Apollo stereo on the same NMEA 2000 network.
The LC302 supports dimmable RGB, RGBW, CRGBW, and single-channel LED units at 12 or 24 V DC. The system allows for individual color selection, brightness control, separate lighting groups, scenes, and lighting effects. With a compatible Fusion stereo, the lighting can also be synchronized with music, linked to a specific audio zone, and display color mixing or audio spectrum.
The three outputs can each deliver up to 2 A, while the module's maximum input current is 6 A. Installation must be protected by a 6 A slow-blow fuse or equivalent circuit breaker, which is not included. The module features overvoltage and overcurrent protection, NMEA 2000 LEN 2, and a maximum NMEA 2000 power consumption of 70 mA. The operating voltage is supplied separately and not through the NMEA 2000 network.
The compact housing measures 197 × 52 × 47 mm and weighs 158 g. It is IP67-rated and designed for mounting on a flat, vertical surface with the cable connectors facing downward. The mounting location must be accessible, at least 20 cm away from a magnetic compass, and protected from permanent submersion, flammable vapors, and strong electromagnetic fields.
For installation, a 16 AWG/1.3 mm² tinned marine power cable is used. With this cable dimension, the power cord can be extended by a maximum of 2.5 m at 12 V or 5 m at 24 V. Each LED output must be initialized and configured as RGB, RGBW, CRGBW, or single-channel. The supply voltage must match the connected LED units, and 12 V and 24 V components must not be mixed in the same controlled circuit.
The package includes the LC302 control module, a power cable kit with a water-resistant 3-pin connector, three 6-wire LED cable kits with water-resistant connectors, an NMEA 2000 T-connector, a 0.3 m NMEA 2000 cable, mounting screws, and documentation. The module is intended for LED lighting only and must not be used for navigation lights, non-LED light sources, or other electrical appliances. A 100 m marine LED extension cable with manufacturer no. 010-13386-00 can be used as a documented accessory and is not included.
