Description
Gelshield 200 is available in two colours - grey and green to ensure optimum coverage. International Gelshield 200 epoxy primer cannot be painted over 1 component products.
Use International Thinner No. 7 for cleaning.
Pretreatment:
GELCOAT: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand thoroughly with sandpaper grain 180220. Clean thoroughly and let dry.
PREVIOUSLY PRIMED SURFACES: Remove with Interstrip. Wash with Super Cleaner, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Sand with 180 grit.
EXPOSED LAMINATE: Stain with Gelshield Plus.
Method:
Remove all dust from the surface Apply the number of coats specified in the data sheet (minimum 250µm) dry film. To facilitate the work and ensure full coverage, you can alternate between grey and green color. Finish with grey.
KEELS: Apply 2 coats if gelcoat is present on the inside of the hull. Otherwise, use Gelshield Plus.
Tips:
Mixing Stir thoroughly or shake both components thoroughly. Add the hardener to the base, stir thoroughly and let the mixture stand for 10 minutes to allow air bubbles to disappear.
Thinner YTA061 Thinner No. 7.
Can be used at temperatures down to 5°C, but the best results are achieved at temperatures above 10°C.
Small damages can be repaired with Watertite putty if necessary, after the first coat of Gelshield 200.
