This GOK T-shaped brass compression fitting for 8 mm pipes is used to connect and branch three pipelines in a T-configuration. It is intended for gas installations, including piping systems in marine and leisure applications.
The fitting features three RVS 8 compression connections for pipes with an 8 mm outside diameter. The T-shaped design carries the manufacturer designation T-MS and belongs to series L. The fitting body and compression ring are made of brass, while the three union nuts press the compression rings against the cone of the fitting to secure and seal around the pipes.
The construction complies with DIN 8434-1 and EN ISO 8434-1 – TC. The fitting type has DVGW type approval according to DIN 3387-1. The maximum permissible pressure for brass compression fittings in series L with this pipe dimension is 160 bar, though the pressure limits of the overall gas installation and its other components must always be observed.
The general temperature range for the brass version is −40 °C to +175 °C. When used as a gas pipe connection within the DVGW scope, an operating temperature range of −20 °C to +60 °C applies.
When mounting on copper pipes, a suitable support or reinforcement sleeve must be used. The pipe must be sawn perpendicularly with a maximum angular deviation of 0.5°, after which the pipe end must be deburred internally and externally and cleaned. Maximum chamfering is 0.2 × 45°. The brass fitting must not be combined with aluminum pipes due to the risk of corrosion.
A spare compression ring for 8 mm copper pipes is available as item no. 50.013.97 and must be replaced when the pipe is changed. A suitable brass nut with M14 × 1.5 female thread is available as item no. 50.013.98.
