Guidi Ionio seawater strainer in nickel-plated bronze with polycarbonate lid, 1 1/2"

This GUIDI Ionio raw water filter with polycarbonate cover has G 1 1/2" connections and filters intake water before it is led to, for example, heat exchangers, generators, and marine air conditioning systems. The compact cup model is designed with an inlet at the bottom and an outlet on the side, turning the water flow 90° through the filter.

The filter housing is made of nickel-plated bronze and fitted with a transparent polycarbonate cover, which allows for visual inspection of the filter's condition. The replaceable filter element is made of AISI 316L stainless steel, while the gaskets are made of neoprene. The filter mesh size is 0.9 mm.

At a pressure drop of 0.1 bar, this 1 1/2" variant has a flow capacity of 19,100 l/h. At 1 bar pressure drop, the flow capacity is 61,250 l/h. The connections have cylindrical G-pipe threads according to ISO 228/1 (BS 2779), BSPP.

The filter measures 180 mm in length and 178 mm in height. The H1 dimension is 111 mm, while the mounting dimensions A and L1 are 40 mm and 91 mm, respectively. The mounting holes are Ø 8.5 mm, and the design is intended for bulkhead mounting in places where an angled water flow from bottom to side is appropriate.

In marine installations, bronze is recommended for water intakes, valves, fittings, and thru-hull fittings to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion when connecting different metals. The filter is intended for intake water and must not be used as a pre-filter for diesel or gasoline. The series has RINA DIP type approval and Lloyd’s Register approval, and the design is patented.

A spare basket with item no. 17.646.02 fits this variant and measures Ø 98 mm externally, Ø 54 mm at the internal seat ring, and 131 mm in height.
