This GUIDI Ionio 316 stainless steel replacement filter basket is a replaceable filter insert for Ionio water and seawater filters with 1 1/2" connections. The cylindrical strainer insert collects vegetation, sediment, and other impurities in the water flow while allowing water to pass through the mesh structure of the basket.
The filter basket has an outer diameter of 98 mm, a diameter of 54 mm at the smaller opening, and a total height of 131 mm. The 316 stainless steel construction is designed for marine installations and contact with saltwater.
The kit is supplied with a U-shaped NBR gasket profile for the edge of the filter basket. The profile has a length of 315 mm and ensures a proper fit in the compatible filter. The separate spare gasket has product number KIT1164GU008.
The basket fits the GUIDI Ionio filter 17.648.04 as well as the GUIDI filters 1164.220008, 3164.440008, 1166.220008, and 3166.440008. The current manufacturer number is KIT1164.000008; the alternative spelling KIT1164#000008 refers to the same spare part.
The filter basket should be checked regularly and cleaned if the openings are clogged by dirt, plastic, limescale, or marine growth. It can be cleaned with water and compressed air. Stop the engine or the connected system and close the water intake valves before opening the filter. At the same time, check gaskets and O-rings, and tighten the cover properly before opening the valves again.
If the stainless steel basket shows signs of corrosion, the vessel's bonding, grounding, cathodic protection, and anodes should be checked, as an incorrect electrical installation can cause the basket to act as a sacrificial anode.
