This GUIDI Ionio nickel-plated bronze seawater strainer is model 1164.220006 with G 1" connections. The strainer protects marine seawater and cooling water circuits by collecting impurities before the water is circulated to engines, heat exchangers, generators, or air conditioning systems.
The angled design directs water from the bottom inlet to the side outlet with a 90° change in direction. The strainer is intended for installations where this connection orientation allows for compact piping. It must not be used as a pre-filter for diesel or gasoline.
The strainer housing is made of nickel-plated bronze and features a transparent polycarbonate cover, allowing for visual inspection of the filter basket's condition. The filter element is made of AISI 316L stainless steel, while the seal under the cover is made of neoprene. The design features one O-ring under the cover and no separate drain plug, as water is supplied through the bottom opening.
The product measures 151 mm in length and 145 mm in total height. The H1 dimension is 94 mm, the L1 dimension is 75 mm, and the mounting dimension A is 30 mm. The bracket is intended for side or bulkhead mounting and features a mounting hole with a diameter of 8.5 mm.
The G 1" connections have parallel BSPP pipe threads according to ISO 228/1 (BS 2779). With a clean filter, the flow capacity is 7,950 l/h at 0.1 bar pressure drop and 25,500 l/h at 1 bar pressure drop. The design is patented and covered by RINA DIP and Lloyd’s Register Type Approval LR2556185TA.
The cover screws should be tightened to approximately 6 Nm. It is recommended to use bronze for seawater intakes, valves, fittings, and hull penetrations to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion caused by mixing different metals. The filter size must be chosen according to the installation's flow requirements and permissible pressure drop.
