This GUIDI Ionio water filter with polycarbonate lid is a complete mechanical filter for filtering impurities from intake water. This variant has G 3/4" connections and is suitable for installation in engine rooms and other locations where space is limited.
The filter is designed as a compact cup model with a 90° flow path between a bottom connection and a side connection. The construction can be used in front of, among other things, heat exchangers, generators, air conditioning systems, and other water-based cooling or supply systems. The filter is not intended as a pre-filter for diesel or gasoline.
The filter housing is made of nickel-plated bronze, while the transparent polycarbonate lid allows for visual inspection of the filter element and accumulated impurities. The filter element is made of AISI 316L stainless steel, and the seals are made of neoprene. For marine installations, it is recommended to use bronze in other water-conducting components to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion between different metals.
The product dimensions are L 151 mm, H 145 mm, and H1 94 mm. The capacity is 4,650 l/h at 0.1 bar differential pressure and 14,900 l/h at 1 bar differential pressure. The connections have parallel BSPP pipe threads according to ISO 228/1, formerly BS 2779.
The Ionio 1164 series is patented and has RINA DIP type approval as well as Lloyd’s Register type approval. The manufacturer part number for this 3/4" variant is 1164.220005.
