Water-lubricated rubber stuffing box for propeller shaft, developed for long-lasting sealing against water ingress and low maintenance requirements when treated correctly. The stuffing box is manufactured from a special grade of rubber that is resistant to saltwater and lubricating grease, and is available in several versions for different shaft and stern tube dimensions.
During normal installation below the waterline, the surrounding water provides both lubrication and cooling. For installation at or above the waterline, an external water cooling system must be connected. The version features a brass hose barb for external water supply as well as a separate lubrication opening with a brass plug. If the water connection is not used, it can be closed with the included brass blanking plug.
The kit is delivered complete with rubber stuffing box, hose clamps in corrosion-resistant AISI 316 stainless steel, specific lubricant for the shaft line, and installation instructions.
