Electric marine defroster and demister from Heater Craft is a 12 V DC unit for demisting and light defrosting of glass windows in boats. The 1002H model circulates air over the windows and provides a limited amount of heat to reduce condensation, fog, and light frost or ice formation during sailing and winter use.
The unit uses 12 A at 12 V DC and has an electrical output of 144 W. The estimated heat output is 500 BTU/hour, equivalent to approximately 146.5 W thermal, while the estimated temperature rise is approximately 4.4 °C. The product has one fan speed and is primarily designed for air movement, demisting, and light defrosting – not as primary heating for the boat cabin.
The defroster is mounted behind or integrated into the instrument or control panel, from where it can direct air towards the boat's glass windows. The housing measures approximately 152.4 mm in width, 228.6 mm in depth, and 139.7 mm in height. The design is developed for marine environments and is manufactured in the USA.
This product is the 1002H defroster unit itself and not the complete 1002HC installation kit. Switch, air hose, air nozzle, wiring harness, and other installation parts are therefore not documented as included. The documented 12 V replacement fan with Heater Craft part no. 2-1193 is compatible with model 1002H.
