Description
Sophisticated voltage regulation with a 'soft start' function that extends the life of incandescent lamps. The dimmer also provides low voltage protection against deep battery discharge. When the batteries are charging, the voltage can rise to 14.4 V on 12 V systems or 28.8 V on 24 V systems, which can shorten the life of halogen lamps. The 2-gang dimmer increases the life of the lamp through sophisticated internal voltage regulation that ensures that the lighting circuit voltage does not rise above 12 V or 24 V. Since halogen lamps also have a high inrush current at start-up, the 2-gang dimmer's 'soft start' provides a further extension of the lamp life. The dimmer's low voltage protection also protects against deep battery discharge. The light automatically switches off when the battery voltage is lower than 9 V on a 12 V system or lower than 18 V on a 24 V system. The light can be turned on again when the battery is charged and reaches 12V or 24V respectively.
