This Igloo rigid cooler in the Marine Ultra series is the Marine Ultra 70 model with a 66 L capacity. The passive, insulated cooler is developed for use on board and is suitable for storing food, drinks, fish, and live bait without the need for an electrical connection.
The body and lid are insulated with THERMECOOL™ foam, while UV inhibitors protect the exterior surface against sun damage. The cooler can keep ice for up to 5 days under controlled test conditions at 32.2 °C. The interior plastic liner is resistant to stains and odors, which makes cleaning easier after use.
The robust construction measures 75.61 × 42.13 × 40.74 cm and can also be used as a seat. The lid features four self-draining cup holders and a molded-in fish ruler. Large hinges with a stay-open feature keep the lid open, while the hybrid latch combines stainless steel at the hinge with plastic in the closing area. The construction also utilizes rust-resistant stainless steel screws.
Two swing-up carry handles with non-slip comfort grips provide a secure hold in wet environments. The threaded drain plug makes it easier to empty meltwater and can be connected to a garden hose or water hose. The plug is secured with a stainless steel tether.
The cooler holds up to 102 cans of 12 US fl oz and is suitable for sailing, fishing, weekend trips, camping, and general outdoor use. Use for live bait is as a passive container; the box does not have documented aeration or a circulation pump.
A seat cushion with item no. 50.566.80 is available as an optional accessory and is not included. Documented spare parts include ULTRA carry handle 50.559.16, latch 50.559.11, and the hinges 50.559.01 and 50.559.02. After use, the box should be emptied, cleaned with water or a mild detergent, and dried completely before storage. The product has a 1-year warranty against material and manufacturing defects during normal use.
