Portable compressor cooler/freezer box from Indel B in the ITB / Travel Box series, model ITB42, has a gross capacity of 42 L. The top-loading box is developed for mobile cooling and freezing on boats, in motorhomes, campervans, caravans, and other vehicles with 12 or 24 V DC.
The compressor system has a power of 60 W and a temperature control range from −20 °C to +10 °C. The energy consumption is 0.215 kWh per 24 hours. The cooling system is hermetically sealed and uses R134a refrigerant, while the SN–T climate class makes the box suitable for use in varying ambient temperatures.
The temperature is set electronically on the digital control panel, which displays the selected temperature and allows for viewing in Celsius or Fahrenheit. The MAX program is intended for faster cooling and high ambient temperatures, while the ECO program reduces energy consumption. The built-in battery protection can be set to High, Medium, or Low and shuts off the compressor if the supply voltage becomes too low.
The box measures 418 × 687 × 384 mm (H × W × D) and has a net weight of 12.1 kg. It is made of durable materials and features a hinged lid for top access. The illustrated capacity corresponds to up to 65 bottles of 330 ml.
When in use, the box must be kept in a dry, protected, and level position, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. At least 60 mm of free ventilation space is recommended in front, behind, and on the sides. The box must not be exposed to rain or splashing water. If placed in a closed space, provision must be made for the supply of cool air and the discharge of warm air.
A DC power cable is included. Operation from 100–240 V AC requires a separate 6 A AC/DC adapter; the documented adapters are 9.4.001.2/0 with EU plug, 9.4.002.2/0 with UK plug, and 9.4.003.2/0 with USA plug. The box is intended for sealed beverages and snacks, which must be stored in original packaging or suitable containers. Loose liquids, ice without a closed container, medicine, and direct contact with food are not intended for this box. Defrosting is recommended when the frost layer exceeds 4 mm.
