Integrated, concealed stern ladder for permanent installation in the boat’s transom, stern, or swim platform. The ladder is stored in an integrated tube so that only the faceplate with the built-in locking and release mechanism is visible when closed. The variant is available with three or four semi-automatic step levels.
The ladder can be released, pulled backward out of the storage tube, and lowered into the water with one hand – both from the boat and from the water. This allows a person in the water to deploy the ladder without assistance from anyone on board.
The semi-automatic step mechanism unfolds the steps upon extension, while the steps on the same side open and close simultaneously. The robust aluminum construction is combined with molded plastic steps that provide stable surfaces and a secure foothold during ascent.
The ladder is designed for an approximately 15° negative transom or stern angle. The documented open length is 737 mm for the three-step variant and 987 mm for the four-step variant. The design reference length of the storage tube is approximately 965 mm for the three-step variant and approximately 1,225.6 mm for the four-step variant. The reference distance between the step levels on the four-step variant is 254 mm, while the distance from the top end to the first step level is approximately 241.8 mm.
The system is intended for OEM or custom installation and is not documented as a universal retrofit ladder. The boat's installation conditions, clearance, and final mounting dimensions must be checked prior to installation. Professional installation is recommended. The ladder is supplied without a neoprene mounting gasket, handrails, or a separate boarding handle. The 19902 series design is covered by U.S. Patent 6,782,840.
