This Isotemp stainless steel marine water heater from the Basic series has a capacity of 24 L and has been developed for hot domestic water in yachts, motorboats, and other marine installations. The Basic 24 can heat water using the 230 V/750 W electric heating element or via a heat exchanger coil connected to the engine's closed, fresh-water-cooled cooling circuit.
The inner tank, heat exchanger coil, and water connections are made of AISI 316 stainless steel. The outer casing and mounting brackets are made of AISI 304 stainless steel, while the insulation consists of expanded polyurethane. The nickel-plated copper heating element and the engine heat exchanger are positioned in the lowest and coldest part of the tank to counteract temperature stratification and provide more uniform heating. An integrated magnesium anode contributes to the tank's corrosion protection.
The water heater measures 470 × Ø395 mm including the thermostatic mixing valve and has a net weight of 12.5 kg. The mixing valve can be set from 38 to 65 °C and mixes the heated water with cold water so that the outlet temperature can be limited. The operating thermostat is set to 75 °C, while the dual over-temperature protection activates at 96 °C and features manual reset.
The fresh water and engine connections use ½" BSP/NPT threads. For the engine cooling circuit, a heat-resistant, reinforced hose with an internal diameter of at least 16 mm or 5/8" is recommended, as well as a cooling water flow of at least 2 L/min. The recommended maximum operating pressure from the fresh water pump is 3.8 bar. The integrated safety valve is set to 7 bar and can be used for winter draining.
The Basic 24 can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The adjustable mounting brackets can be rotated 360° so that the unit can be secured to a suitable shelf or bulkhead. The drain and safety valve must be positioned at the lowest point of the installation, and there should be approximately 30 cm of clearance in front of the unit for service. If the water heater is placed higher than the engine's expansion tank, the engine cooling circuit must be bled at the highest point of the circuit.
The factory-fitted power cable has an EU plug. The electrical installation must be correctly sized and protected with a residual current device. The manufacturer number is 602431B000003, and historical product codes include 60.2431.00.00.03, 60.2431.00.0003, and 602431000003. A five-year warranty against leakage from the water tank itself is provided.
