This top-loading built-in fridge/freezer box from Isotherm is model BI29 with a gross capacity of 29 liters. It is designed for 12/24 V DC installations and can be temperature-set for use as either a refrigerator or a freezer.
The temperature is controlled by a manual, continuously adjustable thermostat inside the box. The specified temperature range is from +10 °C to −12 °C. Cooling is provided by an air-cooled BD35F compressor with R134a refrigerant and a hermetically sealed cooling circuit, which normally does not require refilling.
The box has a stainless steel interior lining and a plastic base. It is fully extendable on roller slides, and a single lid provides access from the top. The product-specific dimensions are 650 × 342 × 365 mm, and the net weight is 18 kg.
When built-in, the compressor and condenser must have free ventilation with air intake from below and hot air exhaust upwards. The compressor can be remotely mounted up to 1.1 m from the box. The unit should not be placed close to a stove, heater, or engine.
The electrical installation must be connected directly to the battery or the battery's main switch on the positive circuit. A 15 A fuse at 12 V or 7.5 A at 24 V is used. The battery protection automatically switches off the compressor at low voltage and restarts it when the voltage is sufficient again.
Defrosting is recommended when the frost layer is thicker than 3–4 mm. The condenser should be cleaned of dust at least once a year, and during long periods of inactivity, the lid should be left slightly open to ventilate the box. At the end of its service life, the product must be disposed of as electrical and electronic waste.
