This Isotherm evaporator with quick-release couplings and thermostat is designed as a flat evaporator plate for constructing or converting an insulated refrigerator or freezer compartment on a boat. The plate is used in conjunction with a separate cooling unit and measures 386 × 361 mm.
The evaporator plate is sized for a refrigerator of up to 150 l or a freezer compartment of up to 50 l at −12 °C. The variant-specific combination is the cooling unit with item no. 50.932.00, which together with the evaporator forms the complete cooling system.
The quick-release couplings facilitate the connection to the separate cooling unit, while the associated thermostat is used for temperature control. The protective caps on the couplings should remain in place until the connection is to be made to protect the couplings during installation.
The evaporator should be positioned as high as possible in the insulated compartment and should cover a large area of a vertical wall to support temperature distribution. For freezer installations, the plate can, where the installation allows, be extended over two or more sides. The plate must only be bent in the marked bending zones.
Hoses and capillary tubes must be routed without being pinched, kinked, or twisted. Any excess hose should be carefully coiled in a spiral with a diameter of approximately 30 cm to limit vibration and noise. Mounting screws must not be longer than necessary, as they could otherwise pierce the refrigerator compartment insulation.
