This Isotherm top-loading built-in refrigerator box in the Built-In series is the BI41 Dual model with a capacity of 41 liters. It is designed for permanent marine installation and can be set to either cooling or freezing operation using the integrated, manually operated thermostat. Cooling and freezing are used as alternative operating modes and not as two separate temperature zones.
The temperature can be regulated from -22 °C to +13 °C. The cooling system is powered by a fan-cooled Secop BD1.4F-AM Micro compressor for 12/24 V DC, and the energy consumption is 222 Wh per 24 hours under the specified test conditions. The low-voltage protection stops the compressor if the battery voltage becomes too low. A 15 A fuse is recommended at 12 V or 7.5 A at 24 V.
The box has a plastic base and a removable internal storage insert, making it easier to organize and remove contents. It does not have an internal stainless steel lining. The cooling circuit is hermetically sealed and contains 60 g of R134a, which means the circuit normally does not require recharging or ongoing service.
The product dimensions are 342 mm in width, 612 mm in height, and 500 mm in depth. The total height consists of 451 mm for the box and 161 mm for the compressor unit. The compressor can be moved up to 0.9 m away from the box, thereby reducing the height to 451 mm excluding the 15 mm thick lid. The documented cutout dimension is 502 × 344 mm, and the measurement tolerance is -2/+4 mm. The unit is supplied without a flange.
The insulated lid has a seal but is supplied without a finished surface covering, hinges, and handle. During installation, the box and compressor must be level, and the compressor must be mounted with the rubber feet facing downwards. The unit must be secured at a minimum of two points and can withstand an operating tilt of up to 30°. Ventilation must be ensured with cool air from below and an exhaust for warm air upwards. The recommended clearance is 20 mm on sides without a compressor and 50 mm on the compressor side.
The electrical connection must be routed directly to the battery or main switch to limit voltage drop. The red wire is connected to positive and the black wire to negative. The minimum requirements are 2.5 mm² cable up to 2.5 m at 12 V or 5 m at 24 V, 4 mm² up to 4/8 m, 6 mm² up to 6/12 m, and 10 mm² up to 10/20 m. For operation from 100-240 V AC, the separate 108 W Power Pack with item no. 50.820.02 can be used.
