This Jabsco Twist ’n’ Lock manual marine toilet features a compact bowl and is intended for sanitary installations in motorboats and sailboats. The toilet includes a white glazed porcelain bowl, a white enameled wooden seat, and a manual hand pump. The product dimensions are 450 mm in width, 410 mm in depth, and 340 mm in height, with a product weight of 9.3 kg.
The self-priming, double-acting piston pump creates a powerful vortex in the bowl. The Twist ’n’ Lock handle locks the discharge valve after use and protects against water ingress and backflow of sewage. The discharge system features a constant internal passage of 38 mm as well as a joker valve with automatic backflow prevention, which reduces the risk of blockage. The discharge elbow can be rotated 360° to adapt to hose routing.
The toilet uses raw water from the sea, river, lake, or canal and must not be connected directly to the boat’s pressurized freshwater system. The flush pump can self-prime up to 1 meter from a dry state measured below the toilet base, and the waste side can lift up to 3 meters above the base. The inlet connects to a spiral-reinforced, smooth-bore hose with a 19 mm internal diameter, while the discharge uses a similar hose with a 38 mm internal diameter.
The toilet can be installed both above and below the waterline and can discharge into a holding tank, treatment system, or overboard where permitted. It is supplied assembled for right-hand operation, but the bowl and pump unit can be rotated 180° before installation so that the pump is positioned on the left. Mounting is performed on a flat, rigid, and load-bearing surface with four stainless steel bolts with an 8 mm diameter in four vertical 9 mm mounting holes.
For installation with through-hull fittings, correctly positioned seacocks must be used. If the rim of the bowl can come below the waterline, the installation must be equipped with a vented anti-siphon loop, the highest point of which must be at least 20 cm above the highest possible waterline. The Twist ’n’ Lock function does not replace seacocks or necessary anti-siphon measures.
Fasteners are accessible from the front or top, so routine service can be performed without special tools. The base plug serves as a winter drain point and provides access for cleaning. The pump and base are manufactured from robust polymer materials, including internal acetal plastic parts, neoprene gaskets, and fasteners in passivated AISI 316 stainless steel.
