This red copper battery cable with PVC insulation is a flexible, single-core cable for current-carrying connections in battery and electrical systems. This variant has a nominal conductor cross-section of 25 mm², a maximum continuous current of 100 A, and is supplied as a 24 m reel.
The conductor consists of electrolytic bare copper in flexible class 5 according to IEC 60228. The construction with 322 strands of Ø 0.300 mm provides a flexible cable that can be used for both fixed and mobile installations. The maximum electrical conductor resistance is 0.780 Ω/km.
The insulation is made of extra flexible PVC type TM2 according to EN 50363-4-1. The nominal outer diameter of the cable is 10.3 mm with a tolerance of ±0.2 mm, while the minimum radial insulation thickness is 1.8 mm. For fixed installations, the bending radius must be at least 10 times the cable diameter, corresponding to approximately 103 mm for this variant.
The cable has a nominal voltage of 450/750 V AC and a test voltage of 2500 V AC. The temperature range for fixed installation is −20 °C to +70 °C, and the specified short-circuit temperature is 160 °C.
The construction is CE marked and intended for battery connections, electrical equipment, and installation in the bilge area of a boat. No IP rating is specified, and the cable should therefore not be considered waterproof based solely on the area of application.
