This collectively approved life-saving appliance is intended for maritime evacuation and rescue of up to 12 people. It is developed for merchant vessels and commercial passenger-carrying vessels and carries the approval code M.M.M. 2/1991.
The life-saving appliance has a rigid construction made of plastic material with polyurethane filling. The orange color makes the unit clearly visible in a maritime environment, while the well-finished construction ensures consistent performance. The product is not a standard inflatable life raft.
The square base measures 105 × 105 cm, and the height is 30 cm. The capacity, dimensions, and approval code apply specifically to this 12-person variant.
The product is supplied without retroreflective material. For retrofitting, use the separate pack of 2 m type-approved reflective tape, item no. 22.700.05, which is cut from the self-adhesive MED-approved reflective tape, item no. 22.300.03. Since 1993, this type of life-saving appliance must be equipped with the specified reflective tape.
