This Lenco Auto Glide automatic trim tab control is version B for electric Lenco trim tabs with dual actuators per trim tab. The system regulates the trim tabs automatically based on GPS data as well as input from three gyroscopes and three accelerometers, allowing the boat's roll and pitch to be continuously corrected according to speed and sea conditions.
Auto Glide operates in three phases. During harbor maneuvering, unnecessary tab movements are prevented or minimized. During acceleration, the trim tabs are lowered to assist the boat in planing, after which they are retracted once the correct trim is achieved. While underway, the tabs are automatically adjusted according to the roll and pitch angle to keep the boat at the set trim.
The control panel features an AUTO function, HOLD for temporarily maintaining the current position, and FAV 1 and FAV 2 for storing two user-defined trim positions. Automatic operation can be overridden with the manual UP/DN functions for port and starboard. The panel's LED cross displays the boat's position and trim direction, while relevant indicators show actuator movement.
Version B is intended for boats where a GPS data source and NMEA 2000 network are already installed. A GPS antenna/receiver and a complete NMEA 2000 network are not included. The kit includes the Auto Glide control panel 30254-001D, control box 30256-001 for a dual actuator system, wire harness 30247-001, and NMEA 2000/CAN1 adapter cable 30259-001D. Connection to the existing network requires an appropriate T-connector or a compatible network cable.
The control box measures approximately 152 × 152 × 51 mm and must be mounted on a vertical surface with the connector facing the stern. The control panel is mounted in a 50.8 mm round hole and secured from behind with a panel nut. The wire harness to the control box is approximately 1.22 m long, while the NMEA 2000/CAN1 adapter is 76.2 cm. For 12 V installations, a 30 A fuse or circuit breaker is required for the dual actuator system, and the main power must be routed through a battery switch or a correctly sized separate ON/OFF switch.
After installation, the system must be calibrated with Home Roll and Home Pitch, and GPS as well as relevant system data must be verified. When properly set up, the control can reduce bow rise during acceleration, level the boat laterally, and help counteract bow bouncing.
