Lenco Pro Control trim tab kit in the Assist Standard version is a complete 12 V electric trim tab system with two 229 × 305 mm trim tabs. The system is designed for manual correction of the boat's pitch and roll and comes with an ergonomic electronic control panel, two SD Pro actuators, as well as the necessary main components for power and network installation.
The Assist control combines rotary control and pushbuttons, allowing both trim tabs to be controlled collectively or individually. Two desired tab positions can be saved as FAV 1 and FAV 2 and recalled directly from the panel. The tab position is shown in nine LED steps, and the panel lighting features a day/night mode with dimming. The Assist version does not use an IMU, which is reserved for the Pro Control Auto systems.
Each trim tab is manufactured from approximately 2.7 mm 12-gauge AISI 304 stainless steel in a standard finish. The tabs have an approximately 16 mm flared trailing edge and a hinge height of approximately 51 mm. The Standard Mount construction is mounted on the transom and requires a minimum height of 356 mm. The variant is indicatively intended for hulls of 4.9–9.1 m; final sizing must always be assessed based on hull type, speed, and the boat’s weight distribution.
The two SD Pro actuators have a 57.2 mm stroke length and a pin-to-pin length of approximately 292 mm. Each actuator can deliver up to approximately 340 kgf during operation and approximately 181 kgf in pulling force. The actuators are IP68-rated, operate at −25 to +60 °C, and have a positional accuracy of 1% of the stroke length. Each actuator has approximately 1.82 m of cable with a Deutsch connector and must be powered via a separate 20 A fuse or circuit breaker.
The system supports NMEA 2000, the proprietary Lenco 2K actuator network, and Mercury SmartCraft on compatible installations. The tab position can be displayed on a compatible multifunction display. An external speed-over-ground source via NMEA 2000 is required for full holeshot functionality. On compatible Mercury installations, connection via Mercury JBox can give the system access to gear, RPM, and throttle data. On other installations, a wake signal adapter is used for the ignition signal or a separate switch.
The kit includes a Pro Control Assist control panel, two trim tabs, two 11.5-inch SD Pro actuators, upper and lower mounting brackets, actuator adapters, power connections, wake signal adapters, and Lenco 2K backbone components. The panel front measures approximately 111 × 70 mm, and the panel cutout is approximately 52–53 mm. Lenco Pro Control components are not compatible with the Lenco 100 Series, and the control panel must only be used with SD Pro actuators.
Trim tabs should be equipped with anodes, even on boats stored on trailers, lifts, or dry stacks. Use zinc or aluminum in saltwater, magnesium or aluminum in freshwater, and aluminum in brackish water. The tabs can be antifouled with paint suitable for metal, but the contact surface between the anode and the tab must not be painted. The system has a five-year limited warranty for normal recreational use; for commercial use or rental, the documented warranty period is 90 days.
