This Lifeguard rescue buoy is a rigid, foam-filled rescue buoy for water rescue. It can be carried over the shoulder and is intended to provide a person in the water with something stable to hold onto during a rescue situation.
The outer body of the buoy is made of polyethylene and filled with expanded polyurethane foam. The permanent foam filling means that the construction does not have an inflatable component that must be prepared before use.
The included shoulder strap makes the buoy convenient to carry, so the rescuer can have their hands free while moving along the beach, pier, or vessel. The tow line can be used to pull the buoy and the person in the water towards land or a vessel.
The rescue buoy measures 670 × 230 × 135 mm and weighs 1.4 kg. The tow line has a documented length of 2 m.
The product is intended as rescue equipment for water rescue and must not be confused with a life jacket. There is no documented product-specific MED, SOLAS, ISO, or EN approval.
