Automatic electronic lifejacket light from Lonako, model LNK-LJ-03A1W, is a water-activated LED signal, emergency, and positioning light for lifejackets. The light marks a person's position in the water and helps attract the attention of rescue services. It is MED and USCG certified and can be mounted on all types of lifejackets.
The device activates automatically when the water sensors come into contact with water. The manual switch toggles the function sequence between rapid flash, steady light, SOS signal, and off. Once the sensors are removed from the water and dried, the light can be switched off manually. Reactivation requires the sensors to be exposed to water again.
The white LED has a brightness of at least 1.5 cd and flashes 50-70 times per minute. The operating time is at least 28 hours above 1.5 cd and at least 24 hours at -1 °C. Power is provided by an integrated lithium battery, which cannot be recharged or replaced. When the battery is depleted, or the device is damaged or expired, the entire light must be replaced.
The main unit measures 62 × 28.4 × 31.5 mm and weighs 30 g including the clip. The included mounting clip can be placed behind the lifejacket strap or through the lifejacket's fabric near the shoulder. The LED must have unobstructed visibility in the upper hemisphere, while the water sensors must be positioned so that they are submerged during use. The device is buoyant, waterproof, and resistant to fire, oil, mold, and corrosion.
The operating temperature is -1 °C to +30 °C, while the storage temperature is -30 °C to +65 °C at less than 80% relative humidity. The water sensors must be kept clean and dry during storage. The product's lifespan is five years from the date of production, and the production batch and expiry date are indicated on the label.
The light should be checked before mounting and thereafter regularly together with the lifejacket. The function test is performed by immersing the water sensors in water, after which the light should activate immediately. The device is maintenance-free and not intended for repair. The separate special clip with item no. 22.409.27 can be used for mounting on the oral tube of a self-inflating lifejacket.
