A manual hand lead with a lead weight and marked nylon line is a mechanical instrument for direct measurement of water depth. The 30 m long lead line is lowered with the lead weight towards the seabed, after which the depth is read on the submerged part of the line.
The nylon line is marked every meter, while every 10 meters has a double marking. This makes it easier to navigate the line during measurement. The lead weight has a weight indication of 1.5 kg and keeps the line taut during use.
The hand lead can be used, among other things, to check water depth when anchoring and in port. It can also be used as an independent, manual check of the boat's electronic depth sounder or fishfinder. The product requires neither power supply, batteries, nor permanent mounting.
The line and weight are assembled with a storage and handle unit, which makes the equipment manageable during use and easier to store. The compact format takes up limited space on board.
