The MARCO EMH-M multifunctional electronic horn is a complete 12 V system for maritime sound signaling. It combines a manual horn signal, automatic fog signal, balanced AUX/VHF input, and voice amplification via the included microphone. The system is designed for boats up to 12 meters.
The kit consists of a waterproof speaker unit, an electronic control unit, a control microphone, and a mounting bracket in AISI 316 stainless steel. The speaker unit measures 154 mm in length, 132 mm in width, and 121 mm in height. The total weight of the kit is 1.55 kg, and the protection class is IP66.
The horn operates at 800 Hz and has a stated sound level of 112 dB. The technical measured value is 108 dB at 1 meter measured in 1/3 octave. A manual signal can be emitted continuously for up to 5 seconds, and the manual horn function has priority over other functions. The automatic fog signal emits a 5-second tone at a preset interval within a 90-second signal program.
The balanced AUX input supports VHF radio and other audio sources with a signal level of 200 mV to 3 V RMS. The voice amplifier is designed as Class A/B, and both the AUX level and microphone gain can be adjusted separately in the control unit. Microphone gain can be reduced if the placement of the microphone and speaker causes acoustic feedback.
The speaker driver is supplied with a 0.5 m tinned cable of 2 × 0.75 mm². The factory-fitted cable must be connected further through a suitable junction box and must not be replaced, as tampering with the driver can affect the waterproof seal. The control unit has an 8-pole and a 4-pole screw terminal. An optional control panel can be connected with an 8-pole, non-crossed RJ45 cable with pin-to-pin connection.
The speaker is mounted with a slight downward tilt so that water does not collect in the horn cone. The installation is protected with a 3.15 A fast-acting fuse. The product complies with EN 60945:2002-10 and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU.
