MARCO EW2 electronic horn with automatic fog signal is a complete maritime sound signal system for 24 V DC and vessels from 12 to 20 meters. The system can emit both manual horn signals and automatic fog signals.
The horn has a nominal sound frequency of 690 Hz and delivers a sound pressure level of over 120 dB measured at 1 meter in 1/3-octave. The maximum power consumption is 1.5 A. An ultrasound-based heating system supports the function of the acoustic membrane.
The delivery includes a horn unit, electronic control unit, membrane-operated SB-UV control panel, and mounting kit. The control panel features an RJ45 connection, measures 80 × 80 mm, and requires a Ø70 mm panel cutout. Both the horn unit and the control panel are designed with IP67 protection; no IP rating is specified for the separate control unit.
The horn unit measures 250 mm in length, 260 mm in total height, and Ø239 mm across the front. It is mounted externally using the included mirror-polished stainless steel bracket. The horn must be mounted with a slight downward slope so that water does not collect in the horn cone.
The horn unit is supplied with a 1.0 m permanently attached, tinned cable with a cross-section of 2 × 1.5 mm². Installation requires only two conductors between the horn and the electronic control unit. The sealed horn cable must not be replaced, and any extension must be performed using a suitable junction box. The power supply and speaker connections must be connected correctly to avoid damage to the electronics.
EW2 is classified as an IMO Class IV sound signal system and meets COLREG 1972. The system is listed with approvals from RINA, Lloyd’s Register MCA, Bureau Veritas, NMMA, and BSH. The RINA type approval covers recreational vessels of 12–20 meters in accordance with D.M. 5/9/90.

The relevant 24 V replacement control unit has manufacturer no. R5000014, while the EW2 acoustic unit has manufacturer no. R5000015. RJ45 cables are available in 5 m as R5000038, 10 m as R5000039, and 20 m as R5000037. An additional control panel with item no. 21.432.00 can be used for operation from a second helm station.
