Marco EW2 electronic horn with fog signal is a complete 12 V marine sound signal system for pleasure and commercial vessels between 12 and 20 meters. The system functions as a standard horn and features an automatic fog signal function. It delivers a sound level of over 120 dB at a distance of 1 meter and operates at a frequency of 690 Hz.
The system consists of a horn/speaker unit, a built-in membrane control panel, an electronic control unit, and a mounting kit. The horn is connected to the control unit with two wires, providing a simple electrical installation. The control panel uses an RJ45 connection and features IP67 protection; the IP rating applies to the control panel and not the entire horn system.
The horn unit measures Ø239 × 250 × 260 mm and is mounted externally using the included high-gloss polished stainless steel bracket. The electronic control unit measures approximately 214 × 164 × 87 mm. The control panel measures approximately 80 × 80 × 45–46 mm and requires a mounting hole of Ø70 mm.
The EW2 features an ultrasonic heating system for the acoustic membrane. The maximum power consumption for this 12 V variant is 3 A. The manufacturer part number is 15004012, also written as 150 040 12.
The horn complies with COLREG 1972 and is classified as IMO Class IV. It is also approved by RINA, Lloyd’s Register MCA, Bureau Veritas, NMMA, and BSH. The RINA type approval includes use on vessels from 12 to 20 meters according to Italian D.M. 5/9/90.
