MARCO PW2 pneumatic brass horn with compressor is a type-approved acoustic signal device for 24 V DC. The complete system consists of a white-lacquered brass horn, an M1-W electric compressor, and the necessary mounting accessories.
The horn has a bell diameter of Ø200 mm and total dimensions of 200 × 460 × 147 mm. It emits a frequency of 315 Hz and a sound pressure level of more than 120 dB measured in 1/3 octave at a distance of 1 meter. The system is designed for intermittent operation and must not be used continuously.
The included oil-free M1-W compressor delivers 60 l/min at a pressure of 2 bar and has a motor power of 180 W. The compressor features an aluminum housing and rotor, as well as a shaft made of AISI 303 stainless steel. The horn and compressor are connected using 8/6 mm Rilsan or nylon tubing, corresponding to an 8 mm outside diameter and 6 mm inside diameter.
The system connects to a 24 V DC battery or equivalent DC power supply. The maximum current consumption is 20 A, and the installation must be protected with an appropriate 20 A fuse. Activation is via a switch or push-button in the positive supply line. The compressor is mounted on anti-vibration brackets, and the mounting kit is included.
The PW2 is RINA type-approved and complies with COLREG 1972, IMO Class IV. The horn is intended for vessels in the 12–20 m length class, including recreational craft over 12 m and commercial, work, and fishing vessels from 12 to 20 m. Approvals also include Lloyd’s Register MCA, Bureau Veritas, BSH, and NMMA, and the documentation refers to NMMA ABYC A-23.
The permitted ambient temperature is –25 °C to +60 °C at a maximum relative humidity of 90%. The product must be stored in a dry place. The complete product has manufacturer part number 15000013. A documented 24 V spare compressor is available as item no. 21.440.99 or MARCO R5000034, while the mounting kit for PW horns with Ø200/300 mm has manufacturer no. R5000022.
