Marco TA1R portable gas horn is a gas-powered maritime signal horn with a 400 ml canister and RINA approval. It is intended for acoustic signaling on recreational craft with a length of 12–50 m.
The horn delivers a sound pressure level of 122 dB(A) measured at a distance of 1 meter and has a fundamental frequency of 400 Hz. The handheld design requires no electrical installation or permanent compressed air supply and is therefore ready for mobile use on board.
The horn trumpet is made of plastic, while the base and diaphragm are made of stainless steel. The manufacturer-specified product/horn length is 190 mm, and the total product weight is 0.60 kg.
The gas canister contains 400 ml of non-flammable HFO-1234ze gas and connects to the horn via a snap-on pressure connection. The gas complies with EU Regulation No. 517/2014.
The TA1R is tested according to the requirements of the Italian Legislative Decree of 5 September 1990, No. 421, Annex II. On recreational craft, the horn can be used as a functional replacement for bells with item numbers 21.532.00 and 21.533.00.
