This Marina R IP56 rocker switch without actuator is a panel-mount switch insert for controlling navigation lights on vessels up to 12 m. The switch function is ON¹-OFF-ON¹+², allowing for the activation of one circuit or two circuits simultaneously.
In the ON¹ position, circuit 1 is activated, for example, a white 360° light. In the ON¹+² position, both circuits 1 and 2 are activated, for example, a white 360° light together with red and green 112.5° lights. Both ON positions are maintained and do not have spring return.
The switch can be used at 12/24 V DC and has a maximum current load of 20 A at 12 V and 15 A at 24 V. It has four terminals and an IP56 protection rating, which protects against dust ingress and powerful water jets.
Installation requires a rectangular panel cutout of 21.5 × 36.8 mm. The dimension describes the mounting hole and not the overall external dimensions of the switch. An actuator or symbol cap is not included, and this version is designed without an LED.
Rocker caps with navigation light symbols, item nos. 14.199.01 and 14.199.40, are compatible with Marina R switches in the 14.198 series. The newer Marina R II caps in the 14.299 series are not compatible. Mounting components for the switch family include the center insert 14.197.21, frame for one switch 14.197.22, blanking plug 14.197.23, and end insert 14.197.31.
Item no. 14.298.07 is a newer related variant with the same basic operating principle, but it has a different terminal configuration and a different load limit at 24 V. It should therefore not be used as a direct replacement without checking the wiring diagram and terminal connections.
