This Marsupio navigation kit is an all-in-one navigation and safety equipment set for four people for sailing up to 12 nautical miles from the coast. The equipment is supplied in a storage bag, which can also be used as a soft cushion on board.
The set contains four 150 N life jackets for adults over 40 kg. The vests are made of compact, soft foam and feature a quick-release buckle, whistle, and retro-reflective tape. They comply with EN ISO 12402-3 and are supplemented by four MED-approved life jacket lights, which are activated automatically upon contact with water and have fast flashing, steady light, SOS, and off functions.
For fire and anchor safety, a MED-certified powder fire extinguisher with fire class 5A 34B C, a corrosion-resistant aluminum cylinder, and mounting brackets are included. The anchoring equipment consists of a 30 m long polyester anchor rope with a diameter of 8 mm as well as a foldable 4 kg umbrella anchor made of hot-dip galvanized cast steel. The anchor's documented dimensions are A = 470 mm, B = 380 mm, and C = 110 mm.
The emergency signal package contains two hand flares, two floating smoke signals, and two parachute rockets. The signals are MED-approved according to Directive 2014/90/EU. The included signal package 30.230.02 is classified according to current Italian regulations for up to 6 nautical miles for rental vessels and up to 50 nautical miles for recreational vessels; the overall navigation kit is still designated for up to 12 nautical miles.
The remaining safety equipment includes an Italian flag measuring 30 × 45 cm, an 8 mm × 30 m floating line for a lifebuoy with a 400 kg breaking load, a boat hook or mooring hook, a manual plastic foghorn, a Colreg table of visual signals, and a black inflatable anchor ball with a diameter of 400 mm. The line for the lifebuoy is supplied without a carabiner.
For the light/buoy, item numbers 30.583.00 and 30.584.00 are listed without clarification as to whether they are supplied as alternative versions. The specific version should therefore be checked upon delivery. One version is a MED-approved automatic floating LED rescue light for 2 AA batteries, while the other is an automatic light buoy for 4 LR20/D batteries.
The composition of the set and regulatory references are based on Italian DM no. 133 of September 21, 2024. The Italian flag and emergency signals mean that the set cannot be assumed to meet Danish national equipment requirements without specific verification. For a vessel without CE approval, the associated Italian regulations also require a bailer or bilge pump.
An empty replacement bag for this 4-person 12-nautical-mile variant and its 150 N vests is available as item no. 22.409.37. For the life jacket lights, mounting clip 22.409.27 can be used as an optional accessory.
