MARSUPIO navigation safety kit without pyrotechnic distress signals is assembled for 4 people and sailing up to 12 nautical miles from the coast. The equipment is supplied in a storage bag that can also be used as a soft cushion on board.
The kit contains 4 orange VIP Intensity MKI lifejackets of 150 N for adults over 40 kg. The vests meet EN ISO 12402-3 and are made with soft foam and a compact design. Each vest features a quick-release buckle, whistle, and retro-reflective tape. Also included are 4 MED-approved lifejacket lights, which activate automatically upon contact with water and feature a fast flash, steady light, SOS function, and off switch.
The fire safety equipment consists of a MED-approved powder fire extinguisher with a 1 kg charge and fire rating 5A 34B C. The extinguisher has a corrosion-resistant aluminium cylinder, is supplied without a pressure gauge, and includes a bracket. The kit also includes a mouth-operated plastic foghorn as a sound signal.
For anchoring, a 4 kg foldable grapnel anchor in hot-dip galvanized cast steel is included, along with a 30 m long polyester anchor line with a diameter of 8 mm. A black inflatable anchor ball with a diameter of 400 mm when inflated is included as a daytime signal for anchoring and can be stored compactly when deflated.
The rescue and deck equipment includes an orange, type-approved floating line for a lifebuoy. The line is 30 m long, has a diameter of 8 mm, and a breaking strength of 400 kg. Additionally, a boat hook, lifebuoy, 30 × 45 cm Italian national flag, and a COLREG table of visual signals are included. The specific design of the included lifebuoy is not explicitly specified.
The kit contains no distress flares or other pyrotechnic distress signals. The composition has been prepared with an Italian regulatory context and includes an Italian national flag. Therefore, always check applicable Danish or other national requirements for safety equipment before sailing. On vessels without CE certification, there may also be a need for a scoop or bilge pump; this is not included.
