Marsupio safety equipment kit without distress signals is a comprehensive maritime safety and navigation equipment kit for four people and sailing up to 3 nautical miles from the coast in an Italian regulatory context. The equipment is supplied in a storage bag that can also be used as a soft cushion.
The kit contains four VIP Challenger MK4 life jackets for adults over 40 kg. The life jackets have a 100 N buoyancy rating and are made with compact, soft foam, a quick-release buckle, a whistle, and reflective strips. The life jackets are manufactured according to EN ISO 12402-4.
The fire and anchor equipment includes a MED-type approved powder fire extinguisher with 1 kg of powder, fire class 5A 34B C and mounting bracket, as well as a 30 m polyester anchor line with a diameter of 8 mm. The included foldable umbrella anchor weighs 2.5 kg and is made of hot-dip galvanized cast steel.
The other equipment consists of an Italian merchant flag of 20 × 30 cm, an orange floating lifebuoy line of 30 m with a diameter of 8 mm and a breaking load of 400 kg, a boat hook, and a manual plastic foghorn of 296 mm. The kit also contains an inflatable black anchor ball with a diameter of 400 mm, which is hoisted when the vessel is at anchor and takes up very little space when deflated.
The kit does not include pyrotechnic distress signals and does not contain a lifebuoy light, automatic life jacket light, or Colreg table with visual signals. The composition is linked to the Italian safety equipment context and Decreto 17 settembre 2024, n. 133. There is no documentation that the kit alone meets Danish or other national requirements. For a vessel without CE approval, a bailer or a bilge/drain pump is also required in the relevant Italian context.
