This soundproofed marine diesel generator in the MASE IS series is a single-phase generator set for onboard power generation. The IS 5.0 delivers up to 5.0 kW with 4.2 kW of continuous power at 50 Hz and can supply 115 or 230 V. It is powered by a single-cylinder Yanmar L100N 4-stroke diesel engine at 3000 rpm.
The synchronous, two-pole alternator is self-excited, brushless, and equipped with capacitors. The rotor is dynamically balanced, while the rotor and stator are protected with an epoxy resin coating. The alternator has insulation class H, voltage stability of ±10%, frequency stability of ±5%, and an automatic safety stop in case of high temperatures in the windings.
The air/seawater cooling system uses a seawater/air heat exchanger to cool the air inside the enclosure. The system contributes to a stable operating temperature for the engine and alternator and reduces dependence on the temperature in the installation room. The seawater pump has a capacity of 20 l/min. The connections are Ø16 mm for seawater intake, Ø45 mm for wet exhaust, and Ø8 mm for fuel supply and return.
The self-supporting enclosure is made of aluminum profiles and coated panels in marine-grade 5754 aluminum. Double vibration damping isolates the engine and alternator from the frame first, and then the frame from the vessel. The generator measures 675 × 468 × 565 mm, weighs 130 kg with the enclosure, and has a noise level of 54 dBA measured at a distance of 7 meters.
Service points are positioned with access to the lubrication and fuel system, seawater pump, and air filter. The oil and fuel filters are replaceable, and an integrated oil drain pump facilitates oil service. Safety features include automatic shutdown at low oil pressure as well as high engine, exhaust, or alternator temperature.
The control module provides manual start and displays AC voltage, frequency, engine RPM, operating hours, and starter battery voltage. It also supports alarm history, maintenance alerts, emergency stop, and thermal protection. The generator has 12 V electric starting, and the recommended starter battery is 12 V / 55 Ah.
Installation and accessories
The integrated mounting brackets have a longitudinal mounting dimension of 644 mm, a transverse dimension of 404.5 mm, and Ø14 mm mounting holes. Documented accessories include complete D45 installation kit 040274, D16 filtration kit 04349, D45 exhaust kit 04654, extra quiet exhaust kit 040272, D16 anti-syphon 04290, and remote START/STOP kit 041238 with 20 m cable.
