This MASE IS soundproofed marine diesel generator, model IS 6.1, is a single-phase generator set for fixed installation and independent production of electrical energy on board yachts and other vessels. The generator delivers up to 6.1 kW at 50 Hz and has a continuous output of 5.6 kW.
The generator set provides 115 or 230 V AC with an output current of 53 A or 26.5 A, respectively. The synchronous, 2-pole alternator is brushless, self-exciting, and self-regulating. The rotor is dynamically balanced, while both the rotor and stator are epoxy-coated to protect against external influences. The alternator features insulation class H as well as protection against overtemperature, short circuits, and overloading.
The 2-cylinder Kubota Z482 4-stroke diesel engine has a displacement of 479 cm³ and operates at 3000 rpm. The engine uses indirect injection, a mechanical centrifugal governor, and pressurized lubrication. Fuel consumption at full load is 2.6 l/h, and the safety system shuts down the unit in the event of low oil pressure or excessively high engine or exhaust temperatures.
The engine is cooled via a closed coolant circuit with a seawater/coolant heat exchanger. The air around the alternator is cooled separately via a seawater/air heat exchanger, and the seawater pump flow is 20 l/min. The system contributes to stable operating temperatures in the installation compartment, which must still have sufficient air supply for engine combustion.
The soundproof enclosure consists of a self-supporting frame made of aluminum profiles and coated panels in marine-grade 5754 aluminum. Double vibration damping reduces the transfer of vibrations from the engine and alternator to the frame and on to the vessel. The enclosure simultaneously provides service access to the fuel and lubrication system, seawater pump, and air filter. An oil drain pump is integrated, and the oil and fuel filters are positioned for easy replacement.
The generator measures 650 × 468 × 555 mm and has a dry weight of 165 kg. The noise level is 54 dB(A) measured at a distance of 7 meters. Operation is handled via an InteliNanoNT MRS 3 control unit measuring 118 × 118 mm with an IP65 rating. The installation must be carried out by qualified technicians with a separate 12 V starter battery, correct switching for shore power, and fuel hoses with an 8 mm internal diameter. The generator is designed for operation from -5 to 40 °C and is CE-marked.
