This Mase IS soundproofed marine diesel generator, model IS 9.1, is developed for fixed installation on board leisure craft. The single-phase 50 Hz generator delivers up to 8.6 kW and 7.8 kW continuously at 115 or 230 V AC. The noise level is 54 dBA measured at a distance of 7 meters.
The synchronous, two-pole alternator is brushless, self-excited, and self-regulating. The rotor and stator feature a weather-resistant epoxy coating, while the dynamically balanced rotor and insulation class H support stable operation. The generator has a current intensity of 74.8 A at 115 V and 37.4 A at 230 V, a power factor of cos φ 1, voltage stability of ±10%, and frequency stability of ±5%.
The prime mover is a Kubota D722 four-stroke diesel engine with three cylinders, 719 cm³ displacement, and 3000 rpm. The engine has indirect injection, a mechanical centrifugal governor, and pressure lubrication. Fuel consumption is 3.1 l/hour. A built-in oil drainage pump as well as easily accessible oil and fuel filters simplify routine maintenance.
The cooling system combines a closed coolant circuit with a seawater/coolant heat exchanger and a seawater/air heat exchanger for the alternator. The Intercooler W/A principle provides controlled operating temperatures for both the engine and alternator. When installed according to the instructions, the generator can be mounted in the vessel's technical compartment without a separate ventilation fan.
The soundproof enclosure features a self-supporting frame of aluminum profiles and panels made of coated marine aluminum alloy 5754. The enclosure is designed with good access to the power and lubrication system, seawater pump, air filter, and other service points, even where installation space is limited. A double vibration damping system reduces the transfer of engine vibrations to the foundation.
The InteliNanoNT MRS 3 control panel measures 118 × 118 mm and has IP65 protection. The safety system includes automatic stop for low oil pressure, excessive engine or exhaust temperature, and protection against over-temperature in the alternator windings. The generator is CE-marked.
The enclosure measures 730 × 468 × 555 mm, and the total length over the mounting brackets is 752 mm. The mounting holes are Ø14 mm. Connections include a Ø16 mm seawater inlet, Ø50 mm wet exhaust, and Ø8 mm fuel supply and return. Mase installation kit 012276 combines a filter set, Ø50 mm exhaust kit, and Ø16 mm anti-siphon for the IS 9.1/IS 9.6.
