This Mase VS variable-speed marine diesel generator, model VS 10.5, is a soundproofed, single-phase generator set for fixed onboard installation. The generator provides 10.5 kW of continuous power at 230/240 V and 50/60 Hz and is powered by a 3-cylinder Kubota D722 diesel engine.
The engine speed is electronically regulated according to the current power demand. At lower loads, the rotational speed is reduced to limit fuel consumption, emissions, and noise. A permanent magnet alternator and an integrated AC/AC inverter ensure a stable electrical supply with stated voltage and frequency stability of ±1%.
The cooling system is designed with separate heat exchangers. The engine is cooled via a closed coolant circuit with a seawater heat exchanger, while the air around the alternator and inverter is cooled via an air/seawater heat exchanger. The seawater pump delivers 22 l/min, and installation connections include a Ø16 mm seawater intake, Ø50 mm exhaust, and Ø8 mm fuel supply and return.
The Kubota D722 engine is a 719 cm³ 4-stroke diesel engine with indirect injection, electronic speed regulation, and an electric fuel pump. The generator features 12 V electric start, an integrated manual oil drain pump, and easy access to the seawater pump, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, and lubrication system. Automatic safety stops provide protection in the event of low oil pressure, high engine or exhaust temperature, short circuit, and overload.
The soundproofed enclosure is made with surface-treated marine-grade aluminum panels and measures 730 × 469 × 555 mm. Dual vibration damping between the engine, alternator, frame, and vessel reduces transmitted vibrations. The noise level is 54 dBA at 7 m, and the generator set's enclosure class is IP23.
The generator weighs 176 kg and is designed for operation at ambient temperatures from −5 to 40 °C and up to 1000 m above sea level. The permitted continuous tilt is up to 25°, while intermittent tilt may be up to 30° for a maximum of 3 minutes. The mounting dimensions are 699 mm in length and 405 mm in width; the dimensional drawing is for reference, and the installation must be carried out by qualified technicians.
The VS 10.5 can operate in parallel with another VS 10.5 using the special parallel cable 036625. During parallel operation, the second unit starts automatically when the load exceeds 80%, and the load is distributed between the units. Documented installation accessories include installation kit 012276, seawater filter kit 04349, exhaust kit 04658, and siphon break 04290.
The generator is CE-marked. The type plate and power definitions relate to ISO 8528 and ISO 8528-1, while the specified environmental and engine power conditions relate to ISO 3046-1.
