This MASE VS 8.5 soundproof variable-speed marine diesel generator is a single-phase generator set for permanent installation on board. The generator provides 8 kW of continuous power and 34.7 A and is powered by a two-cylinder Kubota Z602 four-stroke diesel engine.
The electronic speed control adjusts the engine RPM to the current electrical load. The engine operates within approximately 2100-3150 rpm, so that only the necessary power is produced. This reduces fuel consumption and emissions at lower loads. The permanent-magnet alternator has insulation class H and a voltage and frequency stability of ±1%.
The cooling is designed as an air/water system with a closed coolant circuit for the engine and a seawater/coolant heat exchanger. The air around the alternator is cooled separately through a seawater/air heat exchanger. The design helps the engine and alternator operate at a stable temperature, even when the temperature in the installation compartment varies. The seawater flow is 22 l/min.
The Kubota Z602 engine has a 599 cm³ displacement, pressure lubrication, and an oil capacity of 2.5 liters. The starting system is electrical with 12 V DC. The fuel system, lubrication system, seawater pump, air filter, and oil and fuel filters are positioned for service access, and an integrated oil drain pump facilitates oil changes. The safety system automatically stops the generator in the event of low oil pressure as well as excessive engine or exhaust gas temperature.
The sound-insulating enclosure is made of coated marine-grade aluminum panels and provides access to internal service points, even when installed in tight spaces. The generator measures 650 × 469 × 555 mm and has a dry weight of 172 kg. The noise level is 54 dB(A) measured at a distance of 7 meters, and the maximum inclination is 30°. The stated performance applies at ambient temperatures of up to 40 °C and altitudes of up to 1,000 meters.
The InteliNanoNT MRS 3 control unit measures 118 × 118 mm and has an IP65 protection rating. The controller supports manual starting and monitoring of, among other things, AC voltage, frequency, engine speed, operating hours, starter battery voltage, oil pressure, and temperatures. It includes alarm history, maintenance alerts, and an emergency stop, and a 10 m control cable is provided as standard. The generator set has an IP23 protection rating. The electrical configuration can be 230 or 240 V AC and 50 or 60 Hz; always check the generator's nameplate before making electrical connections.
