The bonnet stays on
Checking the oil level and topping up is made easy - just push aside the new waterproof service hatch on top of the bonnet. Even smarter, the optional electronic oil level gauge automatically warns you at start-up if the oil level is too low.

Avoid running out of battery
A powerful generator charges the grid to 20 A at idle and up to 85 A at full throttle. In addition, the battery charging technology “Idle Charge” automatically increases the rpm, increasing the generator’s output and recharging empty batteries to the correct level.

The engine is also available in L, CXL, XXL, CXXL leg lengths at the same price.

No other outboard goes from zero to maximum faster than a Mercury Pro XS, now with a 4.6-liter V-8. It's a performance that will get your boat out of the starting holes and to the next spot in record time. Pro XS engines have a truly large displacement in an engine block that's geared for high performance with a deep-seated dual overhead camshaft and longer intake port that delivers instant throttle response at all speeds.

Larger displacement means more torque, and new Transient Spark technology optimizes ignition timing, consistently increasing torque at a 1.75:1 gear ratio. Plus, a robust 1.25-inch diameter propeller shaft designed for high-speed, partial surface penetration applications. Specific performance calibration handles up to 6,200 RPM at full throttle, ensuring a more flexible propeller selection.

Get all the power out of your fuel
Mercury V-6 Pro XS models turn every drop of fuel into power, delivering excellent economy at cruising speed and wide-open throttle. Advanced Range Optimization (ARO) calibration is based on closed-loop fuel control, so the fuel mixture is precisely adjusted for maximum efficiency.
As of March 2020, this engine ships from the factory with VesselView Mobile.
This means you always know the status of your engine, whether you're sitting at home on the couch or on the water with friends and family. You also get a full overview of fuel economy, performance and can of course choose to share your data directly on social media.
