Mercury F 5 MLA SailPower
F5MLS - The S stands for SailMate. The SailMate model in particular has a charging outlet (rectifier mounted on the engine) and has a sailboat propeller and idle exhaust above the water for higher reverse power.
Easy to transport
Mercury's 5 hp 4-strokes come standard with a built-in fuel tank, external fuel cock and the option to connect an external fuel tank. A built-in fuel tank means you don't have to connect an extra tank that takes up space, but for those of you who sail extra long distances, an external tank can be connected in seconds.
Low water
Multiple trim positions improve sailing characteristics and enable shallow water sailing.
Easy to start
The automatic decompression system relieves cylinder pressure to reduce the pulling force needed to start the engine.
