Metal wire-reinforced fuel hose from Thor in the CARBOPOMP®/M I5C series is designed for the transport of petrol, diesel, and biodiesel in marine fuel installations. This variant has a cross-section of 50 × 63 mm, an inner diameter of 51 mm, and is supplied as a 10 m roll.
The hose is mandrel-built with a smooth, black synthetic rubber inner layer. The inner layer is suitable for petroleum-based fuels with up to 50% aromatic content, biodiesel, and unleaded petrol with a maximum of 5% MTBE and 15% oxygenated compounds. The hose marking also indicates compatibility with E10 and B10.
The reinforcement consists of high-strength textile layers with embedded metal wire reinforcement, and the construction is specified with a double metal wire helix. This supports the hose's dimensional stability during bending and helps prevent kinking and fuel permeation. The flexible construction is designed to maintain its manageability at large diameters, and the minimum bend radius for this variant is 75 mm.
The black outer cover is made of self-extinguishing synthetic rubber and has a corrugated surface with a fabric impression. The cover is resistant to abrasion, heat, oil, fuel, and the effects of the maritime environment. The hose can be used at temperatures from –20 °C to +80 °C and has a documented burst pressure of over 10 bar.
The fuel hose is intended for engine installations in private recreational craft up to 24 m. It meets ISO 7840:2021 class A1 as well as SAE J 1527:2011 and USCG A1, and is CE-certified and approved by RINA and Lloyd’s Register. The CE type-examination certificate number is DIP169122CS/004.
