This tower-mounted quick-release rack from Monster Tower is designed for the safe storage of wakeboards, surfboards, or water skis on the boat's wakeboard or water ski tower. Depending on the variant, the rack can accommodate two wakeboards, one wakeboard and one surfboard, one pair of combo water skis, or two slalom skis.
The quick-release system allows the rack itself to be removed from the mounting bracket without the use of tools, while the bracket can remain on the tower. This is convenient for trailering, storage, mooring, and maneuvering in tight spaces. The rack can be rotated and leveled so that boards or skis are positioned level with the boat's deck, after which the position is secured with set screws.
The rack is mounted directly onto a round tower tube with a nominal diameter of Ø64 mm (2.5"). For tube diameters of Ø41-63 mm, the separate adapter/collar set with item no. 48.415.90 is used. The mount must be placed on a vertical or partially vertical part of the tower and not on a horizontal tube. The clamp screws should be tightened evenly to approximately 29.8 Nm; Loctite 242 Blue can be used as optional threadlocker.
Depending on the model, the rack features fork openings of 38 mm for wakeboards and water skis, as well as a 70 mm opening for surfboards. The water ski model has a maximum adjustable fork spacing of 63.5 cm, while the wakeboard model can handle a maximum board thickness of 31.8 mm.
Forks and arms are manufactured from anodized 6063 or 6063-T6 aluminum, while mounting brackets and fastening components are made of 303/AISI 303 stainless steel. Rubber inserts protect boards, skis, and the boat against scratches and scuff marks, and UV-resistant bungee cords keep the equipment securely in place.
