Waterproof plastic cable connector housing from MTA’s SEAL 2.8 series is a 2-pole male housing for sealed, separable electrical cable connections. It is suitable for marine installations and other environments where the cable assembly must be protected against water and dust.
The cable connector housing is manufactured from black PA66 and is part of the METRIPACK M280 contact system with a nominal contact size of 2.8 mm. The system has an IP67 rating. A correctly sealed connection requires the housing to be completed with the appropriate contacts and cable seals and connected to the correct mating part.
The housing measures 53 mm in length and 24 mm in width. The product family is intended for cables up to 1.2 mm². The separate silicone cable seal with item no. 14.236.48 is specified for cable cross-sections of 0.5–1.5 mm².
Contacts and cable seals are not included. For this 2-pole male housing, two brass male contacts with item no. 14.236.45 and two cable seals with item no. 14.236.48 are used. The appropriate 2-pole female housing is item no. 14.235.30, which is completed with two female contacts with item no. 14.236.46.
A complete 2-pole, interconnected connection consists of one male housing, one female housing, two male and two female contacts, and four silicone cable seals. The cable connector housing is supplied in a pack of 5.
