This Nuova Rade recessed box for VHF/radio/CD is a white storage hatch with an integrated back box and key lock. It is intended for the protected recessed mounting or storage of a VHF radio or radio/CD unit in a console, bulkhead, or another suitable surface on board.
The external dimensions of the front are 285 × 180 mm, and the clear front/equipment opening measures 108 × 226 mm. The depth is stated as 260 mm for this variant. Manufacturer no. 196364 also has a nominal total depth measurement of 255 mm, so installation should be planned with approximately 255–260 mm behind the panel, plus additional space for cables, plugs, and ventilation.
The frame, hatch, and integrated container are manufactured from white, UV-resistant ASA plastic. The construction is resistant to impact, damage, and relevant chemical influences, while the EPDM rubber gasket provides water resistance for outdoor use. The product is designed and produced in Italy and features a robust handle and a non-slip surface.
The hatch can be mounted horizontally or vertically and is fastened with concealed screws so that the mounting screws are not visible after installation. The door can be opened up to 150° and provides access to the mounted or stored equipment. There is no documented unique cutout measurement, and the hole should therefore be adjusted based on a physical check of the product and the actual mounting surface.
When mounting, use neutral silicone without benzene, acetone, or similar solvents. The maximum tightening torque is 6 Nm, and screws as well as tools must fit the mounting holes to avoid damage. The surface should be cleaned with warm soapy water; acetone, toluene, concentrated acids, and solvent-based cleaning agents must be avoided.
